LaFrance finds the End Zone in Week One
Following a distinguished amateur career with the Winnipeg Rifles and University of Manitoba Bisons, Kienan LaFrance has taken on a larger role in the Ottawa RedBlacks' offense through the first month of the 2016 CFL season.
After early-season injuries to international running backs William Powell and Travon Van, LaFrance found the end zone in Week 1 versus the Edmonton Eskimos and contributed 74 yards on 14 touches against the Montreal Alouettes in Week 2.
LaFrance made a Grey Cup appearance in his hometown as a CFL rookie with the RedBlacks in 2015, while becoming the first Midget Football League of Manitoba alumnus to play in a Grey Cup since Matt Sheridan appeared with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2007.
Nic Demski, selected 6th overall by the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2015, and Anthony Coombs (3rd overall by the Toronto Argonauts in 2014) scored their second and third professional touchdowns, respectively, during the month of July.
